Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of NightShelf, operated by José Maria Teixeira de Queiroz, an individual based in Portugal, trading as Quiet Stack Labs. By creating an account you agree to them.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account. Provide an email address you actually control — it is the only way to identify you if you lose access. One person, one account.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- Access another user's account or data.
- Probe, scrape or overload the service, or attempt to bypass rate limits and access controls.
- Use the service to store unlawful content.
- Resell or redistribute catalogue data obtained through the service in breach of the terms of its original providers.
Your content
Your library, lists and notes remain yours. NightShelf claims no ownership of them and uses them only to operate the service as described in the Privacy Policy. You can export or delete them at any time.
Catalogue data
Information about books, films, television and anime — including titles, descriptions and cover art — comes from third-party providers including TMDB, Google Books and Jikan/MyAnimeList. It remains subject to their terms and the rights of the original rights holders. NightShelf is not endorsed by or affiliated with any of them.
Availability
The service is provided as-is, without any warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Features may change or be withdrawn. Where a change is significant, reasonable notice will be given.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, NightShelf is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data. You are encouraged to keep your own export of anything you would be upset to lose — Account → Your data produces one at any time.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending your use
You may delete your account at any time — see deleting your account. Accounts may be suspended or removed for breach of the acceptable use section above.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, and disputes fall to the Portuguese courts.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the European Union, this does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, nor of the right to bring proceedings there.
